Services for children and families are firmly in the Government spotlight, with a flurry of long-awaited reports now hitting the desks of England's children's care chiefs.

The UK Child Poverty Strategy and the National Youth Strategy have landed, alongside what the Institute for Government calls a ‘significant' announcement in the Budget that responsibility for all future Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) deficits will pass from councils to central government.
