The new Strategic Director for Economy, Transport and Environment will have in their department all the key levers for delivering growth at a County level; economic development, planning, transport infrastructure and environment. It is a key role that, in the new landscape of economic development in England, will require close partnership working with borough and district councils, the Local Enterprise Partnership D2N2 and our bordering city-regions as well as the private and voluntary sectors. Derbyshire needs strong leadership to ensure that it is able to draw money down from the Local Growth Fund, European funding and other funding streams to deliver our vision of "A Derbyshire that works". The successful candidate will be part of the Corporate Management Team and have excellent strategic leadership skills and be able to lead, influence and motivate employees successfully through change while maintaining a strong performance culture.He/she will have a successful track record at a senior strategic level in a comparable multi-functional organisation, understand the challenges and opportunities facing the public sector, and have the passion for public service, energy, vision and ambition that we need to take us forward.
