Strategic Director: Transformation and Resources

Wirral Council is at the national forefront of sector-led improvement, working with the Local Government Association to develop and deliver an ambitious improvement plan. The Council provides some consistently excellent services, is driving some of the largest and innovative regeneration projects in the country and has a new Chief Executive with a national reputation for excellence.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to play a major role in co-ordinating and driving service improvement within the context of an improvement plan with national significance, as well as specific responsibility for Council functions such as Law, HR and Finance. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering successful transformational change in the public sector, who can demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver fundamental improvements at a strategic level while ensuring the Council effectively manages the financial challenges it faces.
