Strategic Finance Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to help Plymouth City Council achieve our vision for the city to become "one of Europe's finest, most vibrant waterfront cities, where an outstanding quality of life is enjoyed by everyone."

There are many challenges ahead as we respond to the everchanging funding scenarios, yet retain our ambitious capital investment and focus on our four priorities of delivering growth; raising aspirations; reducing inequalities; building capacity.

We have restructured our Finance Management Team to reflect the council's new ways of working, and to ensure we are fit-for-purpose to move the finance service forward.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work alongside our existing Strategic Finance Manager, forming the new Finance Management Team, to provide the strategic direction for our large and diverse finance department.

You will be a qualified accountant with strong, proven leadership qualities and vision, and be prepared to play a major role in ensuring Plymouth continues its journey towards excellence on financial management and reporting.

You will lead on developing key core work streams and financial projects for improving the council's financial management, whilst contributing to a culture of high performance and fl exibility across the finance department.
