Mark Rogers has been appointed interim chief executive of Sussex and Brighton Combined County Authority.

He joins the nascent organisation as it prepares for the election of its first mayor in May.

Rogers announced last month that he was leaving Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority following the end of his contract, and has been succeeded by Alan Menzies on an interim basis.

Rogers has also served as interim chief executive at East Midlands Combined Authority from 2023 to 2025 and previously spent seven years as chief executive at Solihull MBC.

He is a former president of senior officers' organisation Solace and is also chief executive of the Leadership Centre for Local Government.
