In tandem at the top

Stepping into high profile professional leadership roles in the sector is benefitting their own council as well as enriching local government, say Robin Tuddenham and Aneeka Muneer. Ann McGauran reports

Members of Calderdale MBC's senior leadership team are refusing to hide away from the wider and bigger opportunities offered by the sector, it would seem.

The council's chief executive Robin Tuddenham took over as president of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (Solace) in January for a two-year tenure, while the council's principal litigation solicitor Aneeka Muneer finished her year as president of Lawyers in Local Government (LLG) in April.
