The strategy reaffirms social services' unique and integral role within local government and shows confidence in local government to drive forward improvement with our partners. ‘The strategy sets out some clear milestones for action and the association will be working with the Assembly Government to refine the implementation and meet the priorities.' Cllr Gravell also welcomed the WAG announcement that it would review funding of social services as part of the strategy which is due to come into operation from April next year. ‘I am delighted by the Assembly Government's decision to carry out a funding review to which we will contribute.
