Jamieson beats Simmonds and Fleming to take over from Porter

Central Bedfordshire Council leader James Jamieson will be the next Local Government Association (LGA) chairman, The MJ understands.

Cllr Jamieson won the election for the top post, defeating Hillingdon LBC deputy leader David Simmonds and Sevenoaks DC leader Peter Fleming.
