Liverpool ordered to look again at paying former Mayor's legal bills

Liverpool City Council has been ordered by the courts to reconsider its decision not to pay the former mayor’s legal fees.

Joe Anderson brought a high court challenge after the council refused to provide him with legal indemnity to cover the costs of his defence.The former mayor was arrested in December on suspicion of bribery and witness intimidation, allegations which he denies.
