Assistant Director Change and Efficiency (Finance and Strategic Asset Management), Surrey County Council

Surrey is well known for many of its attributes; world class branding, an exceptional location combining a lifestyle offer that is unique and being at the heart of the economic hub of the South East. Surrey County Council is no wall flower either. It's scale and ambitions combined with the expectations of its residents mean that anything less than exceptional is just not good enough. That's where you come in.

Managing the most senior finance role in the Council with a budget of £685m, you will be as influential as you will be fluent in managing the public purse in a county the size of Surrey in the 21st century. With a unique financial services and asset portfolio you will be in the driving seat of reshaping not just the Council's asset portfolio but the Council itself.

You've already earned a fantastic reputation as a high-profile, financial expert within a large organisation; effortlessly mixing Section 151 experience with commercial acumen, strategic leadership with operational management. CCAB-qualified, you have an impressive understanding of the statutory Local Government Framework, and the immense challenges we face in the current political climate.

For a confidential discussion about the role, please contact our consultants at Penna – Anthony Hopkin on 07500 042272 or Jonathan Swain on 07500 961727
