Assistant Director Partnership Commissioning

Medway Council.

Up to £90k.

Medway Council and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group have established a pioneering and joined-up approach to commissioning with the creation of a single health and social care partnership commissioning team across Medway in order to achieve better outcomes for our citizens. Both the council and the CCG have firsthand experience and understanding of the needs of Medway residents, detailed local knowledge and understanding of the challenges in Medway and strong relationships and links with other partners, healthcare providers and residents.

The team is responsible for a broad portfolio including children and young people, vulnerable children and families particularly with special needs as well as adults and older people particularly those who need to be supported to maximise their independence as a result of long term conditions, dementia, physical and learning disabilities or who require end of life care. In addition, the team works closely with other commissioning teams whether in Medway CCG, Medway Council, the Kent & Medway Commissioning Support Service and or the NHS National Commissioning Board to maximise the health and wellbeing of the local population. There is the need to further develop effective external links with other public, private and third sector organisations as well as strong public, patient/service user and carer engagement.

This role presents a real chance to lead and shape the delivery of strategy, service redesign, commissioning, contracting and performance management. You will need to bring significant experience of whole system commissioning and of facilitating partnerships and establishing strong stakeholder networks in order that we achieve the integrated outcomes for residents of Medway.
