Business Manager (Corporate & Democratic Services)

North Norfolk is unrivalled as a place to live and work. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the quality of life is excellent with mile after mile of stunning countryside, unspoilt coastlines and beaches, yet still within easy reach of the bustling, cosmopolitan city of Norwich. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this is an exciting opportunity for a vibrant and hands on manager, with experience of democratic and governance services, to lead and manage a newly formed Corporate and Democratic Services team.

Taking the lead in delivering a modern and effective democratic and governance service to the Council, you will have responsibility for democratic services, corporate support and communications. Providing expert professional advice to elected Members and Officers, you will develop and motivate the team to provide a comprehensive committee and executive service to the Council. You will have proven and current knowledge and experience of legislative developments and requirements relevant to democratic processes and local government governance.

The postholder will need to engage effectively with elected Members and Officers, manage a variety of workstreams and liaise closely with the Corporate Leadership as well as implementing new systems and processes into the service.
