Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service

£100,000 per annum

Allerdale Borough Council has a clear set of priorities to help it shape future service provision for its 96,000 residents. It has embraced the modernisation agenda and the approach has been to lead change rather than follow. With an ambitious Administration in place, the Council is absolutely focused on delivering its strategic objectives over the coming years.

Following the announcement of the current Chief Executive's retirement, the Council is seeking an exceptional candidate who will continue our journey and deliver the next stage of the Council Plan. This will require looking beyond traditional models of service delivery and to public and private sector partnerships across the wider West Cumbria region.

The Role:

· To provide leadership, vision and strategic direction to the Council and inspire staff to deliver the Council's vision, values and objectives

· To develop effective structures and partnerships that will deliver cost effective and customer focused Council services

· To carry out the role of Head of Paid Service

The Candidate:

· An outstanding leader with proven senior management experience in an organisation of comparable scale and complexity

· Personal experience of leading the full range of Council services through change at a strategic level

· A track record of successfully delivering innovative new ways of working and partnerships
