Chief Executive - Wiltshire Probation Trust

Ambitious organisations go further. And as one of the most successful Probation Trusts in the country, keeping ahead of the game requires energy, commitment, and the will to win; all of which are also characteristics of the person who'll lead us into an exciting and challenging future.

Probation Trusts across the country are facing real choices and challenges. At Wiltshire Probation Trust, we're looking for new thinking around our financial and governance model, and a new understanding of the environment within which we're operating. Intelligent evolution has never been more essential. So our incoming Chief Executive will have a simple job: take the Trust into this changing future in a way that preserves our values, culture and achievements, while positioning ourselves as the first-choice provider of offender management services. No problem...

While leading us into and through this period of change will be a major part of the job, you'll also be accountable to the Board for sustaining our exceptional levels of operational delivery. So your ability in strategic analysis and planning must be matched by impressive management and communication skills.

Recent extensive experience in probation will be an essential part of your background, though you may also have worked in wider public service or the third sector; you must have a profound grasp of the importance of community safety, the experience of victims of crime, and the complex problems encountered by offenders.

Highly organised, you'll be able to rapidly evaluate options and make well-grounded decisions, including those involving calculated risks; and you'll ensure that the considerable capacity of the Trust is deployed to maximum influence and effect.
