WORKFORCE

Community Services Director

Central Bedfordshire Council is a great place to live and work. The council came into existence in April 2009 and we are now entering a new phase, building on solid foundations to deliver on the potential of Central Bedfordshire, the place, and improving the experience of our customers.

This post has been created to enable a greater focus on our universal services, many of these services are delivered through external contractors so we will want you to deliver great value and improved quality through these arrangements, as well as directly managing those services that we deliver ourselves. You will be a leader and coach to the managers who report to you, and contribute to the corporate strategy of the council through your place on the management team.

With significant experience in a leadership position, you will demonstrate a track record in delivering timely improvements to service quality, performance outcomes and cost effectiveness. A strong communicator with the ability to influence, build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders you will have sound knowledge of customer facing services and a demonstrable track record of managing and driving value from commercial contracts. Central Bedfordshire welcomes applications from both the public and private sectors.
