Director of Development & Planning £59,946 to £64,567

Director of Development & Planning £59,946 to £64,567 - South Ribble Borough Council

This is a unique and challenging opportunity for a leader with the creativity and imagination to bring our ambitious plans for the Borough to fruition.

South Ribble continues to be an area of economic growth, with many major businesses already established within the Borough. We are a key player in a bid for City Deal status, and are seeking to unlock the area's potential, by driving forward on some significant strategic housing and employment sites in the Borough, including an aerospace based advanced manufacturing Enterprise Zone.

We are entering an exciting period and are now looking to build on recent successes by appointing a dynamic individual to this crucial senior role.

You will be expected to make an impact in the region, working with a broad range of partners to promote the Council on key projects and initiatives.

You will also be expected to lead and contribute on a corporate level as a member of the Senior Management Team. This will include effectively delivering the Corporate Plan as well as leading a group of services and, as required, deputising for the Chief Executive. You will be creative, innovative and possess excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills, together with strong political acumen.

For a confidential discussion about this role, please contact Mike Nuttall, Chief Executive, on 01772 625301.

Application form and further details are available from our website or by telephoning Corporate Admin on (01772) 625500.

Closing date: Monday 16 September 2013.

We guarantee to interview all disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria.

South Ribble Borough Council is committed to equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all minority groups within the community.
