Director of Public Health, North Yorkshire

NHS Consultant Salary: £74,504 to £100,446 per annum (pro rata) Agenda for Change Band: Band 9 £77,079 to £97,478 per annum (pro rata)

County Hall, Northallerton. Full time: 10 PA's/37.5 hours North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust (NYYPCT), are seeking to jointly appoint an exceptional Director of Public Health, which pending legislation will transfer from NYYPCT to NYCC in April 2013.

You will use the new arrangements for public health and commissioning positively at the local level to deliver better health outcomes and reduce health inequalities in the context of a tight budget. Creatively delivering change you will work with local councils, communities, voluntary sector, public health teams, health services and clinical commissioning groups to test ways of using the new levers and changes in the system positively, building public health capacity across a whole range of workforces to deliver effective public health interventions.

You will be an experienced and appropriately qualified public health professional, already working at a senior level in a similar health/local authority or delivering to the public sector, and will have a clear vision of success, a passion for significant challenges, and a track record of delivering lasting results within a public sector environment.
