Sheffield is one of the UK's largest cities and has been transformed over the last 10 years with major investment in regeneration and infrastructure. One of the final pieces of the jigsaw to fulfil the Council's Vision of being a modern vibrant city is to bring the city's highway infrastructure up to standard.

The Council is currently going through the final stages of procurement to appoint a Service Provider for a 25 year Highway Maintenance PFI Contract, commencing in mid 2012 to improve the condition of the highway network over the initial core investment period (5 - 7 years) and to sustain this condition over the remaining period (18 - 20 years).

The Council is in the process of establishing a new Service with responsibility for highway maintenance in the city, primarily through the strategic and operational management of the PFI Contract.

The Council is looking for suitably experienced people with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to fill the following posts in the new Service.
