Executive Director

Camden has a history of outstanding performance and excellence, regularly identified as one of the top performing Councils in the country. The Council's leadership team led by a new Chief Executive are passionate about building on this success. Whilst signifi cant progress has already been made, a strong sense of ambition through transformation underpins the Council's emerging vision and priorities placing residents at its heart. Although there is a desire to build on our strengths, we recognise that the world is changing and that in order to succeed in taking performance excellence to the next level we require leading innovation and sophisticated transformation.

As a result of the promotion of the previous Director to the role of Chief Executive, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to this role which will play a major part in driving the delivery of the Council's ambitions, vision and priorities.

You may be an existing or aspiring Service Director - perhaps even a Chief Executive. The critical requirement is that you have the personal style, pace, skills and ability to enable sustainable change, taking others with you. You may be a Housing or Adult Social Care professional, but we are also keen to hear from experienced general managers who have a range of skills and can make a strong contribution to a challenging agenda.

We are keen to hear from dynamic leaders, with a broad range of relevant senior experience who are natural collaborators and comfortable engaging with stakeholders both internally and externally in order to innovate and drive the delivery of a truly exciting agenda.

If you are able to balance strong strategic leadership with the ability to grasp the detail, have a successful track record in service transformation including the application of a commercial approach we would like to hear from you. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals who are comfortable applying leading edge performance and efficiency principles – not only to Housing and Adult Social Care, but corporately, to other aspects of the Council's services.

For further details, please visit  the Veredus website quoting ref: 12961. For an informal, confidential discussion about this position, please contact Veredus and speak to Steve Guest on 020 7932 4308 or James Greengrass on 020 7932 4286.

Closing date: Friday 3rd February 2012 at 9.30am.

Camden Council values the diversity of its community and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We therefore encourage applications from all sections of the community, including candidates from BME backgrounds.
