Minister says chief candidates must have 'critical skillset'

Ministers have urged Surrey’s shadow unitary authorities to prioritise the permanent recruitment of heads of paid service due to Woking BC’s ‘financial challenges’.

Ministers have urged Surrey's shadow unitary authorities to prioritise the permanent recruitment of heads of paid service due to Woking BC's ‘financial challenges'.

In a letter to the leaders of the two shadow unitaries, local government minister Alison McGovern she said she supported their efforts to recruit permanent appointments, adding: ‘In particular for West Surrey, given the scale of the financial challenges in Woking, I would encourage that this process identifies candidates with the critical skillset to support this challenge'.
