We need a seasoned social work professional to put safeguarding high on the agenda.

Improving the life chances of vulnerable children and young people are of paramount importance to Kent County Council, the largest Local Authority in England. We have recently appointed a new Corporate Director of Families and Social Care and this is your chance to strengthen the Directorate's senior management team.

You will lead and commission all elements of children's social services planning operations, provision, and performance. Your focus will be on the evolution and promotion of initiatives and services relating to adoption, fostering, care leavers and unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC). You'll also be responsible for support for children with disabilities.

It's likely that you're a highly qualified social worker with a track record of achievement at a senior and strategic level, including leading safeguarding and looked-after children's services. Your wide-ranging experience of partnership workingwith other agencies will be matched by a flair for delivering change.

Director of Education, Planning, and Access

Play a key role in improving the quality of education in Kent.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead, commission, and secure the provision of high quality early years and school education across a diverse range of schools for children and young people. You will lead on the development of new schools, in particular the Academies Programme. Your remit will also include SEN and the fair access agenda.

Committed to driving forward improvements in parental choice, you will bring considerable experience of working strategically with schools, academies, and other education providers. Resilient, adaptable, and articulate with strong influencing skills, you will be committed to transforming education for the children and young people of Kent.

Director of Education, Quality, and Standards

Do you have a passion for school improvement? Well add a new perspective to our brand new team.

Taking the lead on quality and standards, you will work in partnership with a wide range of providers, from early years settings and schools to FE colleges to ensure that every child and young person in Kent receives their educational entitlement. Championing the needs of vulnerable learners will also be vital to your success in the role.

Familiar with the barriers to learning faced by young people aged up to 24 and indeed the challenges of adult education, you will have a proven track record in education, local government, academia, or a similar environment. Your skills in project management and relationship building will be matched by a sound understanding of the Kent economy.
