WORKFORCE

Service Director Safeguarding and Children's Care (Somerset County Council)

Keeping children and young people safe is a top priority in Somerset. When children or young people cannot stay with their families, we aim to provide the best possible care.

Which is why we need an inspiring social care professional to head up the strong and stable management team that's already in place, and lead our well developed and effective service.

With a clear track record in safeguarding, your strategic leadership will include developing the Safeguarding and Children's Care portfolio and making a contribution to Somerset's Children and Young People agenda. There will be opportunities for a wider corporate brief as our Council transforms the way it operates.

We offer a supportive and stimulating environment, leading a service that is highly regarded and has a good track record of Ofsted inspections.

Closing date: 31st October 2011.
