Technical & Enforcement Services Manager

Basildon Borough Council is seeking to recruit a Technical & Enforcement Services Manager. Responsible for the maintenance and enforcement of the Council's car parks, the Borough wide enforcement of environmental crime, the Street Scene Maintenance Service (responsible for the Council's hard surfaces, street lighting etc), the Central Stores Department and the associated administration team.

The candidate will need to demonstrate a range of skills and knowledge that will enable them to effectively manage such a variety of services including, budgetary control, staff management, computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential along with a demonstrable in-depth knowledge of the various services and the associated legislation.

You will need to be either an Incorporated Civil Engineer, a Chartered Engineer, MICE of similar, of have 5 years relevant/equivalent experience.

The successful candidate will ensure that service plan and corporate aims are met and be willing and able to represent the Council in court or adjudication as required. Your duties will also include the planning, organisation and control of all the services within your control to ensure they provide value for money and deliver quality services.
