The Local Government Association will cite the number of section 114 notices issued by councils as evidence of a ‘broken’ system.
Chair Shaun Davies added the organisation would ‘reach out to all councils that find themselves in that situation’ as Birmingham City Council became the latest in a slew of councils to issue section 114 notices as a result of financial distress.
