CCN: Counties and rural unitaries short changed compared to mets

Government funding for counties and rural unitaries over the next three years will only meet 2p of every £1 they spend on meeting rising costs, County Councils Network (CCN) analysis of the fair funding review has warned.

Government funding for counties and rural unitaries over the next three years will only meet 2p of every £1 they spend on meeting rising costs, County Councils Network (CCN) analysis of the fair funding review has warned.

As a result, they will ‘have little option other than to keep raising council tax for the foreseeable future, with their income now largely reliant on local taxation,' it said.
