Directors warning over proposed powers for child protection authority

Stronger powers expected for the Government’s long-awaited child protection authority (CPA) need to be ‘proportionate’ and focus on improving outcomes, the Association of Directors of Children’s Services (ADCS) has warned.

Stronger powers expected for the Government's long-awaited child protection authority (CPA) need to be ‘proportionate' and focus on improving outcomes, the Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS) has warned.  

Last week the Government said the capability of its long-awaited national children's safeguarding body would be beefed up to compel attendance to its meetings and direct councils to tackle failures.
