The 60th anniversary of London boroughs has brought home to me how much there is to celebrate and be proud of – and how much councils have to offer the Government's public service reform agenda.

Over the last six decades, London local government has worked with communities to build a deep foundation of support, solutions and ideas relevant to our evolving city. The value this adds to improving people's daily lives and preventing more serious issues in future should not be underestimated.
