Bristol's mayor backs decision to axe chief executive role

Bristol City Council’s mayor has dismissed the overview and scrutiny committee’s concerns about his decision to axe the role of chief executive.

Responding to the committee’s report, Marvin Rees said his decision to discontinue certain roles should be ‘self-evident’ given the council’s history of failure to deliver services.
