Exeter City Council can ‘take pride’ in the way it has coped with austerity and promoted wide-ranging economic growth, a gushing peer review of the authority has concluded.
During a three-day visit to Exeter in December, a Local Government Association-led review team assessed how the council overhauled itself in response to austerity after 2010 while also positioning the area as a regional driver of economic growth.
