County wins legal battle over cost of local care

Essex CC has successfully defeated a judicial review of the fees it pays to local care home operators.

Care England, the representative body for care providers, had challenged Essex’s 2016 decision to hand only a small increase in the fees it pays to providers – claiming that the cash fell well short of the cost of providing both residential and nursing care.
