DfE’s children’s review stalled

A Department for Education (DfE) review to consider the role of councils in relation to children has been mothballed after its launch three years ago, The MJ has learned.

An external advisory board (EAB) is understood to have produced an initial report for the department and highlighted a number of outstanding questions, including what levers local authorities might need to ensure there are sufficient school places.
