DoLS rise to record level

The number of applications for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) received by councils has continued to rise to a record level, new figures have revealed.

NHS Digital data showed 195,840 DoLS applications were dealt with during 2015/16 – the most since the new system was introduced in 2009.
