Expert in warning over funding review complexities

The complexity of the local government fair funding review could make it difficult to develop a ‘fair and workable system’ in time for April 2020, a sector expert has warned.

In a briefing, Mike Woods, an associate at the LGiU think-tank, said the most striking feature of the ongoing consultation was that ‘despite ministers’ rhetoric, the new system is likely to be very complex’.
