FCA overhaul for LGPS asset management

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced a ‘package of remedies’ to overhaul the asset management sector that serves local government pension schemes (LGPS).

A report published by the regulator last week proposed to ‘strengthen the duty on fund managers to act in the best interests of investors’ after it found that price competition was weak in a number of areas of the industry.
