Figures were recently released showing how much councils are spending on obesity. For the period from 2013/14 to 2016/17, the total amount spent is set to surpass half a billion pounds.
While this shows how committed councils are to tackling obesity, it also underlines the huge challenge we are facing. Today one in four adults is obese, compared to 15% in 1993.
