Newcastle City Council leader Nick Forbes has confirmed he will step down from his post after his deselection earlier this month.
Cllr Forbes announced he did not want to be parachuted into another ward after he was pushed out of his Arthur’s Hill seat and he confirmed would not stand at the elections.
