Glasgow City Council will today decide whether to shut two of its nine ALEO (Arm’s-Length External Organisation) companies, bringing their services and 6,500 workers back under direct control.
The plans affect Cordia, formed in 2009 to manage care services and facilities management, and Community Safety Glasgow, launched as a charity in 2006 jointly with the Scottish Police Authority, with a remit to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime, and deliver community safety.
