House of Commons Public Accounts Committee chair Meg Hillier has called for the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act to be applied to contractors running public services.
Ms Hillier told an Institute for Government seminar: ‘If we have more transparency we can see what’s going wrong and do something about it.
'My opinion is that FoI should be extended to publicly funded contracts.’
