Labour looks to overhaul 'not fit for purpose' council tax

Labour is considering a range of options to fund local authorities as part of an overhaul of a council tax system ‘not fit for purpose,’ the shadow communities secretary has said.

But The MJ understands that, contrary to reports this weekend, Andrew Gwynne does not favour of the introduction of a local income tax (LIT) as part of his ongoing review.
