Leeds to manage Syrians’ relocation

Leeds City Council has been approached by the Home Office to help manage an eight-year relocation programme for Syrian refugees across Yorkshire and Humber.

With the Government committed to resettling up to 20,000 Syrian refugees by 2020, Leeds City Council has been called on to become the accountable body for delivering a £30m scheme that will resettle 1,250 people through Migration Yorkshire.
