Lessons from the Manchester Arena bombing

The 22 May is not likely to be a date the families of the 22 people killed when a bomb was detonated at Manchester Arena will ever forget.

Nor will those families of the hundreds of others injured, physically or mentally – some of them still in hospital even now. Or indeed, the rest of the mostly children and young people – and some devoted mums and dads – who were at the concert that night watching their favourite singer.

Neither will the taxi drivers who gave free rides home, the hotels and restaurants who re-opened to offer food and shelter, or all the other amazing Mancunians who reached out to strangers.
