MHCLG figures show decline in new housebuilding

The number of new housing developments to get under way has continued to plummet, according to newly-released figures.

The number of new homes started in the latest quarter to the end of June is estimated at 38,730 after seasonal adjustments, which is 4% down on the previous three months and a 4% decrease on a year earlier.
