Mitigating winter storms’ risks

A series of storms this winter have been buffeting the UK – dominating headlines with the damage and disruption they’ve caused. Bad weather brings a host of liability risks for local authorities relating to environmental management.

With extreme weather events likely to become only more frequent in the future, councils must ensure they’re doing all they can to reduce the risk of potentially dangerous incidents and prepare to defend against possible claims should damage unfortunately occur.
