New guidance after LEP criticism

Local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) have been handed a new best practice guide as the Government responds to widespread criticism that they lack democratic oversight and accountability.

LEPs have been told to ‘promptly implement the necessary standards and policies,’ with area leads from Whitehall’s cities and local growth unit charged with checking up on them.
