Spending on social care spirals by 25%

Council spending on social care services has spiralled by as much as a quarter since 2012/13, data shared with The MJ has revealed.

Despite council funding falling by up to 29% over five years to 2015, rises in social care costs have led to total gross expenditure climbing by almost 5% in England’s counties between 2012/13 and 2014/15.
