Stronger governance ‘essential’ for STPs

Stronger governance will be ‘essential’ to ensure Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs) can put measures into action, health experts have said.

Analysis by The King’s Fund today raised concerns over the leadership arrangements in STPs, warning the 44 bodies designed to transform local health services had ‘no statutory basis’ and were relying on 'the willingness of organisations’ to co-operate with one another.
