The key commercial property considerations for local industrial strategies

City leaders across the UK are currently developing the local industrial strategies (LIS) due next year, through which the Government hopes to drive up productivity levels. And with one of the chief objectives for LIS being to ‘enhance infrastructure and business growth’, it’s clear the quality and availability of local commercial space will be a consideration for local leaders.

New buildings capture the imagination of those tasked with economic development across the country. This is understandable – new commercial property developments offer a visible and immediate outcome, unlike more long-term policies such as initiatives to improve skills levels.
