The public sector has to pay the right price for the job

The public sector marketplace is a multi-billion pound business. The private sector, whose trade associations often act as if the public sector is a drain, nonetheless furiously feed off its contracts. When providers like Carillion fail it is not just the giants that crash to the ground but their hundreds of smaller private sector suppliers.

So who therefore are the villains in this sorry saga? The greedy private sector bosses with their inflated salaries, rewards for failure and undeserved dividends? Yes, of course in the eyes of the public. They are the gravediggers of capitalism, the poster boys/girls for Corbynism. What about the small business private sector providers? They seem to go under the radar when it comes to the private versus public debate. And what about the public sector commissioners? They too must take their share of the blame.
