Westminster leader selected for parliamentary seat

Nickie Aiken, the leader of Westminster City Council has been selected to fight the city’s parliamentary seat for the Conservatives in December’s General Election.

She will contest the high profile Cities of London and Westminster seat following the decision of current MP Mark Field to step down.

Other contenders include former Labour frontbencher-turned-Liberal Democrat Chuka Umunna.
