Prospects for a Solent combined authority mayor have improved after the leader of Hampshire CC indicated he could now support the proposal.
Cllr Roy Perry had previously objected to the idea of a mayoral figurehead for the region covering Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
